Dear Friends of Living Grace Lutheran Church,
Our Church Council met on Tuesday evening and, after much reflection and discussion, we have decided that it is now time to provide an "in person" worship option.
We will resume our in person worship service beginning on Sunday, September 27 at Millard Horizon High School. The worship service will begin at 10:00 AM.
We also will be having Grace Place Sunday School and Youth Ministry at 10:00 AM, with appropriate social distancing practices.
Due to COVID-19, we will not be providing refreshments or drinks at this time.
The Omaha City Council has instituted a mask ordinance effective through October 20, so we ask all attendees who are five years old or older to wear a mask or face covering.
We also will be practicing social distancing between “family units” during the service. Each family should maintain six feet of social distance from other families.
Congregational singing will be limited, for now. However, Joy Augustine, our virtual worship leader, will be providing music remotely for our gathering time, as she has been for our virtual worship.
Holy Communion will be celebrated on Sunday, October 4. We will be using pre-packaged Communion elements for this part of our service.
We encourage those who are sick or at risk to stay home. This includes:
-
The elderly
-
People with underlying medical conditions
-
Family members who live with elderly people or those who are at risk
-
People who have access to those at risk in nursing institutions
-
People who have upper respiratory or flu-like symptoms
-
People who live with someone with upper respiratory or flu-like symptoms
-
People with COVID-19 or live with someone with COVID-19
-
People who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19

Please know that we will strive to provide an environment that allows you to connect with others meaningfully in a safe and healthy way.
If you are not able, or do not feel comfortable, attending this in person service, please join our live online community gathering through Facebook Live, also beginning at 10:00 AM. Our worship service livestream will continue to be an interactive experience that will bring together our in person and online communities into one body of worshipers.
We also are in need of volunteers who feel comfortable serving in our "in person" worship environment. If you are available to help serve on Sunday, September 27, please contact me at (402)669-3340 or jamesl@livinggraceomaha.org.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to contact me as well.
I look forward to us gathering in person and online as one community for worship, Sunday school and Youth Ministry on Sunday, September 27 at 10:00 AM.
