Proverbs 15:22 says, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed.” I believe this verse is the heart of Children’s Ministry at Living Grace.

I grew up in the small, rural, farming community of Elgin in the northeastern part of Nebraska. I have very cherished memories, attending Sunday School, VBS, and being active in the Methodist church I grew up in. I loved to “play Sunday School” at home after church and teach my stuffed animals about God. When I was in high school, I enjoyed teaching Sunday School and assisting with Vacation Bible School. After high school, I attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, K-12. After graduation, I moved to Bellevue and began teaching special education with Bellevue Public Schools. My husband Brent and I have three children, Kolben, Sophie and Lia.

I have a passion for helping children develop a relationship with God. I have 7 years of volunteer experience, teaching Sunday School. It is important to me to help children make a personal connection with God and help them to find ways to show God’s love to others around them. Seeing their smiling faces each Sunday morning, brings so much joy to my heart! I look forward to my time as the Director of Children’s Ministry. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us at Grace Place!

My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 25:40. “And the King will say, “I tell you the truth, when you did it one of the least of these, my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”
