For the last four years, our ministries like Financial Peace University, Third Grade Bible Adventure, Confirmation and various team meetings have taken place in member's homes, and in coffee shops and restaurants in west Omaha. This has created a sense of connection among the people of Living Grace, and has kept our ministry grounded in the community God has called us to serve.
God continues to bless our congregation and we have outgrown our ability to have these gatherings in homes and public places.
As you can see from this recent picture of our Third Grade Bible Adventure class on October 13, 2012, our ability to invite more kids to take part in this important faith forming experience is now hampered by the lack of space in the basement of our home.
We now have an opportunity to relieve the pressure of our immediate space needs and grow even more ministries with the addition of a new mission center.
A generous donor has an available 1600 sq. ft. office bay near 180th St. and W. Center Rd. in west Omaha. He and his wife are willing to provide us this space and help us build it out in a way that will be most beneficial to our ministry needs.
Living Grace will be responsible for providing initial equipment and furnishings, and we will also organize work parties and clean up crews to help during the finishing process.
After the space is completed, we will pay for the monthly utilities and also a fair lease price, but the donors will generously provide the lease funds back to the church so we can continue on reaching the other financial goals we have set our in our 2012 strategic plan Growing Faith-Growing Lives.
The church is not a building. Buildings are a launch pad for living out the mission God has called us to. That’s why we are calling this the G.R.A.C.E. Mission Center, to remind us of its purpose. This facility will help us:
G - Grow
R - Reach out to others
A - Activate faith
C - Provide a place of Connection
E - and help us Engage with God's world.
It’s my desire that we bless this space in mid-February, 2013 and begin using it for our first ever Lenten worship services beginning on Wednesday, February 20th.
I look forward to the new ways we will be able to use this space to live out our mission to worship, connect, engage, and bring. I am humbled at the generosity of the donors who have decided to be faithful stewards of their God given blessings. I also look forward to your continued support as we work towards our 2012 financial goals to increase our offerings by $30,000 and encourage 30 families to increase their regular offering by $20 a week.
If you have any questions about the new G.R.A.C.E. Mission Center, or would like to provide a special gift to help us equip this space for mission, please feel free to contact me at email@example.com or call me at (402)669-3340.
