Growing Faith — Growing Lives is Living Grace Lutheran Church’s purpose for 2012.

In 2 Thessalonians 1:3, the Apostle Paul writes, “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.”

This purpose statement keeps us grounded in the overall mission of our congregation: To inspire, lead and equip people to develop and grow their faith. As people grow and develop their spiritual lives, are inspired by God and filled with the Holy Spirit, it affects all parts of their being since the spiritual is at the center of the individual.

Our logo has the cross at the center reminding us that our congregation is rooted in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Our hands reach up in worship, to engage God. They also reach out to engaging our world. As this happens, our love (symbolized by the heart) grows and flourishes (branch).

The focus area of our ministry for 2012 is found in the following ministry objective:

To inspire the people of Living Grace Lutheran Church to engage with God, God's church and God's world.

As Living Grace Lutheran Church matures, new people join our congregation because the mission, culture and message of the church resonates with them. God is calling us to help them find ways to become better engaged with his mission through our church. We also want to help our founding and sustaining members, who once engaged with us because of their desire to start a new church, refine their type and level of engagement in the congregation.

This ministry objective also includes five specific ‘ministry initiatives’ and identifies the teams that are responsible for developing, implementing, and measuring the progress of each project under these initiatives.

• 1. Evolve children’s and youth ministry to meet future needs. With our church’s high child to adult ratio, we will need to continue to meet the spiritual needs of our nursery through middle school students. We now need to intentionally address the needs of the growing numbers of high school students in our congregation.
• 2. Coach the people of LGLC to know and grow their level of engagement with the congregation. A healthy church includes faithful individuals who recognize their level of engagement and actively work to grow it.
• 3. Create a facilities vision and timeline. We believe that the future vision of our church includes the commitment to a physical church structure.
• 4. Grow our member’s financial engagement with LGLC. We have been successful in helping our members incorporate regular giving into their financial lives and have reached significant financial goals over the past three years. In 2012 we will build on that success and increase offerings by $30,000.
